The Most Common Parenting Mistake Of All

Becoming a parent, especially for the first time, is an exciting but scary experience. You’ll be entering a whole new world where different rules apply, and no matter how prepared you think you are, there’s usually little you’ve experienced before which you can draw on when making the choices and snap decisions that will become a major part of your life once the little one arrives.

It’s for this reason that there’s an abundance of parenting advice available which you can use to inform your decisions. There are print magazines packed with useful advice, web sites with tons of articles to peruse, not to mention the well meaning but sometimes irritating advice and opinions of family and friends. Despite all this information being available, most parents are terrified that they’re somehow not up to the job and will do it wrong, and herein lies the most common parenting mistake of all: not trusting in your own judgment and instincts.

However intimidating the prospect is of having ultimate responsibility for the nurture of a new and precious life, you should be in no doubt that you have exactly the skills and capabilities you’ll need over the coming years.

Think about it. As human beings, we’re all parenting specialists. In evolutionary and genetic terms, our whole existence is geared towards producing and nurturing offspring, and over the millions of years that the human species has been developing we’ve become generally incredibly good at it. You only need to watch a mother and child together to know that however difficult the process may seem, bringing up a child is the most natural thing in the world, and something for which each and every parent to be has the necessary skills to make a success of it if they make it their number one focus.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that you should ignore all advice. After all, the experience handed down from generation to generation is absolutely vital and is how civilization developed in the first place. Not one of us has all the answers, we all need input from others in all kinds of situations.

But trust in your own capabilities as a parent above all else, and trust in your own ability to make the best of all the advice and support that’s out there. That way you’ll definitely be the best parent your child could ever have.

The Power Of Getting A Health Care Degree Online

One of the most popular programs for online education today is that of the health care degree online. What makes this degree so desirable one might wonder? The answer is as simple as two words, job market. The current state of affairs in the world of health care is one of major need for workers. With a booming health care industry, there is pressure on potential employees to earn a health care degree online, instead of going a more liberal arts affiliated route.

If this is something that doesn’t seem to make sense to you, simply have a look at your local paper’s classified ads section. Under the help wanted ads, there should be a large block of advertisements dedicated to the health care field. This is why health care degree online programs make so much sense for those looking to get a job. It is the simple fact that if you sign up for a health care degree online program, you can count on the chances of getting a job after graduation much more than most any other field offered online today.

The average health care professional earns close to double the average wage per capita in the United States, and has a career filled with helping others. Obtaining a health care degree online can be the difference between making something of yourself in the near future, and spending another bunch of years figuring it out. This is because most people after college go through seven to eight jobs before they find their career. This is not the case when you have a health care degree online, because most people that earn their health care degree online have the pick of the litter when it comes to job selection in the medical field.

Another benefit of earning a health care degree online is the upward opportunity to earn future degrees in nursing, or even becoming a doctor. There must be a foundation for every building, and if you look at your career as a building, the health care degree online is your foundation. This is the cement that allows you to build a better, stronger, future for yourself, and your family. Many nurses spend time after earning a two, or four year degree, before returning to get their masters in nursing. It is often the case that some will achieve such comfort in their health care job without this degree, that they never go back and thus the wide open market for nurses today. Having a health care degree online can make you a better, more prepared person for the future.

Not everyone is prepared to earn a health care degree online, and it should be considered a major challenge for anyone that is interested in earning this degree. Simply because the job market is ripe does not mean that earning a health care degree online is an easy task, in fact, this is one of the more challenging degrees online today.

Some people are gifted with a knack for science, most of us are not, and it takes extra dedication to make earning a health care degree online a reality. This means that you will probably need to study more than your peers in other programs, and often will be faced with scientifically challenging puzzles, that aren’t easy to solve. However, for those that are able to tough it out, and earn this degree, the world literally is awaiting their arrival. For the first time in history there are more jobs in this industry, than there are people to fill them, that is why earning a health care degree online is the right choice for anyone that is ready for a great career in the health care industry.

Diamond Jewelry Online Buying Tips

When it comes to diamonds, there are numerous scams to avoid. Most scams are minor, but there are some major ones that come up from time to time concerning the buying and selling of diamonds. With all of the potential for scams concerning diamonds, buying diamonds online almost seems unthinkable! However, you actually can purchase diamonds online, without any problems - as long as you are careful.

First, think about your reasons for wanting to purchase the diamond online, as opposed to making a purchase from a local jewelry store. The most common reason is price. Due to low overhead costs, online jewelers and wholesalers are able to offer lower prices. However, you must be careful - sometimes a price that is too low is a sure indication of a scam.

One of the best things about purchasing online is the unlimited selection. When shopping offline, you are limited to the selection in the stores in your general area. Online, there are no limits. But again, you must use a great deal of care and consideration before handing your money over to someone that you cannot see and have never met!

Before shopping, learn as much as you can about diamonds - especially cut, color, clarity and carat weights. When you are knowledgeable about diamonds, it will be harder for a con artist to rip you off. Once you know more about diamonds, you will be ready to start shopping.

Take your time. Don’t purchase the first diamond that you see that interests you. Instead, look for similar diamonds for sale. Do some comparison shopping to find the lowest and best offer prices. Once you have found the lowest price, start doing your detail investigation. You know about diamonds, you’ve found a diamond that you love, and you’ve found the lowest price - but you are still quite a ways away from actually purchasing that diamond!

In this respect, ask about the seller’s credentials and qualifications, such as professional jewelry associations that they belong to. View and print the seller’s return, refund, and upgrade policies. Also inquire about additional services, such as settings and mountings, sizing, and free shipping. Do a search for customer reviews on this particular company around the Internet. Also check with the BBB Online to see if there have been any complaints.

Ask for a diamond grading report from an independent laboratory such as GIA, HRD, EGL or AGS. You should see this before making a purchase. Finally, use a reputable escrow service for high dollar diamonds - preferably one that will have the diamond appraised while it is in their possession. The seller sends the diamond to the escrow service, and you send the money to pay for the diamond to the escrow service. The escrow service has the diamond appraised, sends the diamond to you, and sends the money to the seller. This is the surest way to protect yourself…again, make sure that you use a reputable escrow service!

Visa Documentation — The Benefits Of Hiring Professionally Vs. Doing It Yourself

It’s true; we do live in a society where anyone with access to the internet and a printer can work though paperwork from divorce papers to a will and testament. This is also true for those in need of proper visa documentation that will allow them to leave their country legally and arrive safe and sound on American soil without incident. With something as important as being able to reside in the United Sates would you really want to take a chance of having your K1 fianc?e visa, or K3 marriage visa application delayed or denied because of improper paperwork preparation. Why take a chance?

Take Your Time, Do it Right
Consider the benefits and disadvantages of doing your visa documentation yourself.

Benefits of filing yourself
- Able to proceed at your own pace.
- Extremely affordable.

Disadvantages — Here are just five very important points
- Not mistake proof
- Could result in your fianc?e or spousal visa application being delayed or denied.
- No where to turn for answers during the process to ensure success and prevent delays and/or denials.
- Added stress for both you and your fianc?e or spouse because you are not sure what to do, or when to do it.
- Incorrect information and assistance from the USCIS or unqualified individuals.

What to do first?
The U.S. Citizenship And Immigration Service has the basic information to help familiarize yourself with the process. Information of this nature is helpful. Why? Simply put, to make sure you don’t get taken advantage of, then you need to know what to expect. For example, if someone tells you that it takes twelve months to get a K1 fianc?e visa then they would be wrong. Each country has different processing times and a K1 fianc?e visa and K3 marriage visa professional will be aware of those specific processing times. Or take the promise that there won’t be any problems even if the petition is flawless. Also false. Not all USCIS service centers and/or US embassies or consulates operate with the same efficiency so it’s not entirely unusual that something may occur to tie up the process. Knowledge is power and with that power you can make the right choices when looking for the right immigration attorney to handle your case.

The Advantages of Proper Representation

1. Smart, knowledgeable advice based on your particular situation
2. Proper submission of the information
3. A record of you submission and a way stay up to date with the process
4. An experienced professional who is working to help you achieve your goals.

Because of the high anxiety of picking the wrong attorney or getting scammed by unscrupulous individuals you have to take your time, ask questions and trust your instincts. Ultimately though even if it seems easier to do it yourself, go with a professional. With something as vital as a visa for a loved one or for yourself, and your entire future at stake why tempt fate? Go with the professional to get the job done right.

Futurama (Season 1) DVD Review

A brainchild of Simpsons creator Matt Groening, Futurama launched itself into homes across the galaxy in Spring 1999. Employing the same quick wit and visual humor that has made The Simpsons one of the most successful shows in television history, Futurama (despite its early cancellation in August 2003) maintains its own loyal cult following…

Set one thousand years in the future, Futurama follows the life of a modern day American pizza delivery boy named Fry who finds himself reanimated 1,000 years after being accidentally cryogenically frozen. Brought back to life, Fry hunts down his great, great, great nephew - a tinkering scientist named Professor Farnsworth - and spends his days working for his distant relative’s intergalactic delivery service alongside good friends, Leela (a female Cyclops) and Bender (a morally-challenged robot). As the characters (usually Fry and Bender) engage in various schemes throughout the universe, Professor Farnsworth and his crew meet up with a number of interesting characters and civilizations…

The Futurama DVD features a number of hilarious episodes including the season premiere in which Fry awakens following his 1,000 year cryogenic freeze. Together, they hunt down Fry’s closest relative (Professor Farnsworth) and become the crew of his space delivery service… Other notable episodes include The Series Has Landed in which Fry and the crew deliver their first package, and My Three Suns in which Fry becomes leader of a race of liquid aliens… Season 1 also features its own distinct alien language found on signs littered throughout the various episodes…

What Is CLASSID?

ActiveX controls are reusable software components that are used to add special functions to web sites or desktop applications. Browsers use the ‘CLASSID’ of the ActiveX Control on a web page to determine if the control already exists on the system. If they do not they are automatically downloaded from the website.

Before you go ahead and download a registry cleaner understand why it is necessary. As a web page loads on your system, you may be prompted to install several ActiveX components before the page can be fully downloaded. This is so that the browser can interpret the ActiveX components and display them properly on the system. This only would only occur if the controls used in the web page were not already on the system. If you decline permission for the installation, the page will not function properly. However, once these ActiveX controls are on your system, you won’t have to download them again, even when you come across them on other web sites. These download clutter up the registry over time and need to be removed with the help of some registry shareware cleaner.

Other ID Tags

So how can the web page determine that the required ActiveX controls are not installed on the system or not? The browser does this by referring to the ‘CLASSID’ in the ‘OBJECT’ tag of the web page. To cut a long explanation short, an ActiveX control is added to a web page using the and container tags. The ‘CLASSID’ is unique to each ActiveX component

Mold Allergy And Other Mold Related Health Issues

MOLD ALLERGY

The leading cause of health problems associated with mold is the common mold allergy. Many who believe they are being poisoned by toxic molds are actually experiencing a mold allergy. Allergenic responses to molds as well as to other bio-allergens such as dust mite allergens, cat and dog allergens, and cock roach allergens can nevertheless be a serious concern and can result in mild to severe reactions that often get worse over time. Mold allergy symptoms include: runny nose, watery eyes, coughing, sneezing, itchy nose, itchy throat, and skin rashes. The institute of Medicine (1993) estimated that one in five Americans suffers from allergic rhinitis, the single most common chronic disease experienced by humans. Additionally, about 14% of the population suffers from allergy-related sinusitis, while 10 to 12% of Americans have allergically-related asthma. About 9% experience allergic dermatitis. (Institute of Medicine, 1993) and (Washington state Department of Health). We sometimes find that our clients are suffering from debilitating mold allergy reactions when living in moldy homes or working in moldy environments. People often realize after suffering for a few months or a few years, that it may be the mold causing their mysterious prolonged illness and that the situation is getting worse not better and that either they have to leave, or the mold has to go and the condition that caused the mold has to be revealed and corrected. Mold allergy is not the only problem.

MOLD INFECTIONS

Certain molds are known for causing infectious tissue diseases by invading and infecting human and animal tissues and mucous membranes. Mold-related sinus infections appear to be common in many persons living in mold contaminated homes. Eyes, ears, nose, throat, lungs, heart, brain and skin systems have documented infections due to molds. However, infections in these tissues typically only occurs in persons with a compromised immune system.

MOLD TOXICITY

Many molds also have been shown to produce very scary toxic substances known as mycotoxins; mycotoxins are located primarily in the mold spores.

These mycotoxins are produced by molds to help them compete with and kill other molds and microbes. It’s a type of biological warfare between molds and their competitors. Mycotoxins are believed to result in headaches, sore throats, hair loss, flu symptoms, diarrhea, fatigue, dermatitis, general malaise (tiredness) and psychological depression. (Croft et al, 1986, Jarvis, 1995).

Other reported responses to mycotoxin exposure includes skin rashes, lesions of the skin and gastrointestinal tract, and interference with blood cell formation. (Sorenson 1993).

Many of the above are the results of lab animal and cell culture studies on toxic black mold also known as stachybotrys, and human and horse exposure to stachybotrys mold infested hay.

It is very important to not panic and keep in mind that to accomplish the above serious detrimental effects toxic molds like Stachybotrys and others may have to be either:

1. Consumed in mold contaminated foods.

2. Physically handled so that excessive physical contact is made between human skin and the mold.

3. Or the mycotoxins have to be exposed to living cells in the laboratory.

It may or may not be likely that toxic molds can cause the above detrimental effects when humans breathe in mold spores in the home. It is very difficult to gather scientifically reliable proof on the effects of breathing toxic mold spores in the home.

MUCOUS MEMBRANE AND TRIGEMINAL NERVE IRRITATION

Molds produce waste products made up of volatile organic compounds (VOC) such as alcohols aldehydes and acidic molecules after breaking down and absorbing food materials in our homes such as moist dust, and water damaged drywall paper, and wood. Exposure to volatile organic compounds may result in irritation to the eyes and the respiratory system. Volatile organic compounds and moldy pungent odors can also initiate avoidance reactions from the trigeminal nerve such as breath holding and discomfort. Odd sensations may also be noted including itching, burning, and skin crawling. Changes in sensation, swelling of mucous membranes, constriction of respiratory smooth muscle, or dilation of surface blood vessels may be triggered in response to trigeminal nerve stimulation. Decreased attention, disorientation, diminished reflex time, dizziness and other effects can also result from such exposures( Otto et al., 1989)

This web site is designed for informational purposes only. It is not intended for diagnosing or treating a health problem or disease. It is not a substitute for professional care. If you suspect you have a health problem, contact your doctor.

The presence of a small amount of even very toxic mold in your home is not necessarily need for immediate or irrational fear. It seems that most homes from my experience have some potentially toxic mold spores as do most outdoor environments. If unwarranted fear takes over, people become vulnerable to be taken advantage of by dishonest mold inspectors and dishonest mold remediators. It is wise to have your property tested and inspected by a non-biased professional mold allergy inspector to determine if concern is warranted and if and what corrective measures are needed.

The Role of the Book Publisher

A book publisher is a group or person who is responsible for bringing the book to the public for reading purposes. The book publisher is involved in the major steps of developing, marketing, producing, printing, and distributing the book. The book publisher negotiates with authors over intellectual property rights, rights to distribute, and rights to change the book. The publisher also offers the author a bonus, royalties, or a percentage of sales. See self-publishing-steps.com for the steps required to publish a book yourself.

Book publishers must go through an initial process of negotiation with the author. Intellectual rights must be negotiated. The intellectual rights laws for every country is different, so the author must demonstrate which countries he/she would like to market the book in, and what his/her desires are for the rights of the book in each country. If there is a digital printing of the book, the author would also discuss which rights would be allowed with the internet. There have been many issues of download copyright protected material from the internet, however this is a complicated issue, as many countries have not yet passed laws against this act, or do not enforce already present legislation on downloading copyrighted material from the internet.

The book publisher also deals with the editorial phase of book creation. This phase involves utilizing a large staff of editors, artists, copyeditors, writers, and other members to change and alter the book to the chief executive editor’s preferences, as well as the author’s preferences. The amount of editing that takes place, as well as the different levels of editing depends on how large the book publisher is. Larger publishers may go through several rounds of editing before the book is finally released, and there is more of a lengthy process involved. The more clout that an author has, the less that the editor can alter the book.

Finally, the book publisher will produce and distribute the book. The production process is the process of physically creating the book. This process may be accomplished using onsite facilities, or the publisher may go to a third party production company to fulfill this need. The book is then wrapped and shipped to a variety of bookstores where it is displayed to the public. The publisher usually has negotiated some kind of deal with the bookstore to get their books displayed.

Why Internet Authors Don’t Need Critics

I love to help people, and I’m always ready to give advice to people who ask.

For instance, there’s a lot of people out there seeking advice because they’ve written a book. A lot of people. Almost as many as the number of people who give advice to people - who’ve written books. Most of that advice is meant to be helpful, but is, quite frankly, wrong.

For instance, I saw an article the other day which said that it ‘was OK to publish on the internet’, (which is patronising enough), but then went on to say that it was important that the book ‘had all the usual things in it’, so as to ‘impress the Critics’. Why? Why do Internet Authors need Critics?

The problem, as I see it, is that these ‘Advisors’ don’t seem to realise that being published on the internet is a new kind of experience. It’s not like Traditional Publishing, which has dominated the world of letters for the last 250 years. It isn’t a ‘cheap imitation’, or something that you do while you’re waiting for a ‘real publisher’ to notice your book and make you an offer. It’s a whole different world. If you get your book onto an internet publishing site like Lulu.com, you will be able to get a few copies printed, enough for yourself and your friends, and maybe that’s all you really want. You will stop there. Of course, you have the other opportunity, which is to carry on, do the ’submitting to publishers’ thing, like all authors do, (even though you’ve seen your book in print - internet print), and wait by the mailbox like other authors do, hoping against hope that you’re going to get good news. And wait. And wait. Just like other authors do, playing the game that publishers have been forcing authors to play for the last few hundred years.

If you think that Traditional Publishing is the right way to go, really the only way, the one true way, then yes, Internet Publishing is going to seem like a weak and pale imitation. More important, the books that come out from the Internet Publishers, are going to look all wrong. After all, Internet Published books are mostly laid out and planned by amateurs. Authors, that is, but rank amateurs when it comes to layout, design and book jacket artwork. These authors may find, (as I found), that getting your picture properly sized is a minefield, and matching pic and text is easy to get wrong. Page numbering is another quagmire. The result? Books that purport to be ‘paperback novels’ but look nothing like the things you pick up and buy in the shop.

That’s what this woman was getting at, with her advice. She wanted Internet Authors to make sure they put a nice blurb on the back; a tempting extract on the front page (like ‘real’ publishers do); and ensure that the ISBN information was all correct and properly laid out on the reverse of the Title Page. Lost? Confused? Don’t worry. My advice is more simple. Pick a book off your bookshelf and copy that. When you upload your own manuscript to Lulu and begin the long journey of becoming an Internet Author, copy what you can see in one of your ‘normal’ books. Make sure you have the same first few pages, and draw up a Dedication Page for instance, and Contents Page, or whatever you can see the proper publishers doing. (Like me, I put in a ‘Cast of Characters’ page into my romantic novel, but only because I saw that other similar authors had done it first!)

As a result, your Internet book will look and feel ‘normal’. This is what the woman was advising. Most particularly, she was worried that if Critics received a copy of your Internet book and it somehow looked different - looked cheap, badly printed, poorly laid out - then they wouldn’t take it seriously and wouldn’t give it a good review.

Who cares? What are the chances that any reputable Critic is going to get hold of a copy of a book that is published on the Internet? Would any Internet Author dare send their self-produced novel to a national newspaper for review? I mean, what if the Critic liked it and orders flooded in - how are you going to print off the thousands of copies you will need? How will you get them distributed to bookshops?

No, Internet Publishing is a different game. First and foremost it’s about satisfying the author, and finding a way to put your well-loved and crafted manuscript into book form, so you can enjoy that frisson of holding your book in your hand. Second, it’s about impressing your family, your friends, your neighbours and their dog. It’s not about rivalling the Traditional Publishing companies. It’s about filling in that gap between ‘published’ and ‘unpublished’ for all those aspiring authors who have been passed over, ignored and generally reviled for the past few generations. It’s also about giving readers more choice.

It’s not, definitely not, about pleasing Critics. Internet Authors don’t need Critics.

How To Choose A Business Credit Card

A business credit card might a be good option if you are a business owner looking to streamline your accounts management. Here are some factors to consider when choosing a business credit card.

Look At The Interest Rate

One of the most important issues is the annual percentage rate (APR). This is the interest that lenders charged on any outstanding debt. The APR varies considerably between lenders, so it is worth shopping around for one that you find acceptable. You should also pay attention to the interest rate for cash withdrawals. As with personal credit cards, the APR on cash withdrawals can be very high. This is worth considering if you intend to use your business credit card to withdraw cash.

Check Out The Fees

Some business credit cards charge annual fees. These can range from around ?20 to as much as ?75. However, there are still some business credit cards that do not have a fee, so it is worth considering these if the other factors meet your requirements. Another fee to consider is the application fee. It may be worth searching for a credit card provider who will waive this fee.

The amount of credit you will get and the repayment period are crucial aspects for managing your business. You’ll want to get as long a grace period (interest-free period) as possible.

Business Or Personal?

Like personal credit cards, some business credit cards also offer rewards. These can be points that can be applied to purchases or useful rewards such as air miles or travel points of some sort. However, the range of rewards for personal credit cards is far greater.

Some business owners may be tempted to manage their business spending via a personal credit card, but this is best avoided for three reasons. First, the credit limit given will not match the kind of credit limit a business credit card might get. Second, the interest rates and repayment periods on business credit cards are designed to help with business cash flow. Third, if you find yourself in debt, any spending on a personal credit card is your personal liability. In comparison, spending on a business credit card is charged to the business rather than an individual.

Credit Or Charge?

Business owners also have other options for managing their finances. Some can choose debit cards. This will mean that there is no line of credit and business owners can only spend what is in the business account.

Another option is a business charge card. Like a credit card, there is often a fee for having a charge card, but there is no APR and no minimum repayment. This is because any spending on the charge card must be repaid in full at the end of the pay period.

Whichever option business owners go for, there are a number of good reasons to use a card for managing business expenses. This can be especially useful for businesses with a lot of employees as they can use a business credit card to track expenses and cut down on in-house accountancy.
