Most of us have been on a calorie-reduced diet before. For a few days everything is Jim Dandy, until you start dreaming of a trip to the candy store to buy lollypops, peanut brittle, Snicker’s bars, peanut butter cups and chocolate truffles.

You don’t have to give up sweets to stay on a weight loss program. Your weight management plan just has to include a little sanity in the form of sugarless candies, natural chocolates and healthy alternatives.

Chocolate lover’s diet

Several years ago, the major diet guru Jenny Craig had a special weight loss menu option called the Chocolate Lover’s plan. It meant dieters could choose a small chocolate cake for dessert, chocolate peanut butter bars for snacks and a few other chocolate treats. Even this weight loss giant knew eating a few small treats throughout the day could not stand in the way of weight loss.

However, therein lays the problem. How to have just one chocolate or candy anything and still lose weight?

Enter the sugarless candy. Note, I did not say sugarfree. Candy made the proper sugarless way promotes better health and can actually enhance your weight loss! Sugarless candy and chocolate, properly made, means you never know the difference, but your bathroom scale will.

Think about how much more effective and healthy your diet will be when you incorporate sugarless candies and chocolate.

The key to weight management is usually moderation. Choose natural, organic foods along with sugarless treats. Traditional sweetners have that traditional sweetner aftertaste. Sugarless candy need not.

Sample diet plan

Your weight management plan should include five to six mini-meals or maxi-snacks a day.

Start off your day with a balanced breakfast of eggs, sprouted grain bread and fruit. Then, a few hours later, have a morning snack containing protein such as yogurt. At that time, feel free to indulge in a piece of sugarless candy.

After a lunch such as soup and salad with a small amount of lean protein such as chicken, indulge again in a piece of sugarless chocolate.

After a healthful dinner of fish and steamed vegetables, you will stay happy and content on your diet by eating yet another piece of natural chocolate or sugarless candy for dessert.

Dieting need not be painful. Sweets’ lovers the world is yours!

Fred Goldman is the Founder of D-lectables. His company imports and manufactures high-quality, sugarless candy and chocolate and other great tasting sugarless products without the awful aftertaste only at www.d-lectable.com http://www.d-lectable.com .

LiveScience.com - July Fourth is a celebration of outdoor cooking, as well as our nation’s birthday. It’s time to brush off the barbecue and throw masses of processed meat on the grill. As we all stand around waiting for the fire to die down so that we can make s’mores, it’s also a time to ponder the notion that the barbecue is a ritual 700,000 years old or more, and it might have something to do with our big brains. Human ancestors started out eating whatever they could; berries, bark, fruit and bits of small animals were probably the main fare. …

Modern times require modern actions and credit cards are the modern tools that anyone may need but not everyone may have. Establish a good credit history seems to be harder for those individuals who do not have a credit past, however it can be build up individually for the first time starting small.

Your credit history determines many economy-related activities in your life including getting a job, obtaining reasonable rates on insurance, purchasing an automobile or renting an apartment. So starting small building your credit history means that you can do some research for department stores and financial institutions where you can apply for small amounts of credit.

Do not forget to get a written copy of the conditions, terms and fees applying to the type of credit chosen. Penalties for late payments and interest rates may be slightly higher that other regular credits if the applicant does not have established credit.

Most experts recommend you to request a copy of your credit report from the three national credit bureaus. Yes, you may not have a credit history yet but the request will make the bureaus create the reports making it easier they put files on your credit report as soon as you start getting small credits.

Although there is, a possibility of getting those reports with information already included because any credit purchases made in your past is reflected on your credit history. If the file exists, make sure the information is accurate or immediately report any incorrect information so that they can take action to correct your file.

Another good option in building your credit history is to open a bank account, either a savings or checking account. Analyze the bank’s financial products because there is no need to be a big investor to find some type of products offering savings accounts, checking accounts and debit card as a whole.

always Keep in mind that your bank accounts are to build a good credit history so do not miss your goal using them to purchase until you are in debt or you bounce checks. Getting a loan may round your credit plan if you pay consistently and pay all bills in a timely manner, so the granter may report this positive information to the credit bureau.

There are other useful strategies to build a credit history or improve your credit score if the history already exists. Apply for a secured credit car or prepaid card, open utility accounts such as gas, electric and phone service are just a few of them.

The most important thing to remember, use your cards or credits regularly to ensure that your report is updated regularly and pay your bills on time, because lenders look at the most recent information on your credit history report.

What exactly should you be looking for when comparing health insurance plans? Of course you will want to take note of how much the premiums are going to cost you. This is usually the first thing that most people look at. You’ll also want to take a close look at what the health insurance plan that you’re considering covers. Not all plans are created the same. Does it include hospital care? If so, up to how much? Does it include ambulatory care? If so, how much? Does it include prescription drugs? If not, why? Also, if it doesn’t cover prescriptions, how much additional would it cost to have them included?

How much is the deductible? The deductible is the amount that you’ll have to pay out of your own pocket each year before the insurance company will pick up the tab. An example of this would be, let’s say that you took a fall and hurt your arm. You went to the doctor and he wanted to get some x-rays done to see if it was broken. After determining that it was, they placed you in a cast, gave you two prescriptions and sent you home. Three weeks later you get a bill from the doctor and the hospital. The total between the two bills is $1,400. In this case, if your deductible was less than $1,400 then you’d have to pay that amount and the insurance company would pay the rest. If your deductible was more than that amount you’d have to pay for it all yourself.

If you have been looking into getting a health insurance plan for yourself or your family, these are some of the questions that you’ll need to be asking, along with many more. Do the proper research before signing anything and make certain that you’re are very informed about the type of coverage that is included in your new health insurance plan.

Each and every day, millions of people in the United States use a refrigerator. Many businesses depend on them as they are crucial to maintain our foods safety. When it comes down to it, refrigerators are so commonplace in our day, it is hard to imagine people would add chemicals or use ice to keep things cool. Beyond the refrigerator in a home setting, most people never even think of the extensive technology required to keep commercial and industrial food appropriately cooled at all times. Generally speaking, equipment is needed to protect and store goods, largely food, during shipping by road, rail, air and sea. Without the ability to do this, food would have no way of being moved from one area to the next without spoiling.

Domestic vs. Commercial Refrigeration

Domestic Refrigeration: This type of refrigeration is one that is familiar to most homeowners. Refrigerators and freezers that you keep in your home fall under this category. This is the type of unit that is used to keep food cold in a residential environment.

Commercial Refrigeration: This type of refrigeration holds and displays frozen and fresh food in retail stores, as well as other like establishments. In most cases, this type of refrigeration is farther advanced than refrigerators that you would find in residential homes. As you can imagine, it is crucial that many commercial establishments keep their refrigerators up to date with food safety regulations. This ranges from retail stores to restaurants and many more.

Food processing and Storage: This type of refrigeration is used to preserve process and store the food from its source to the wholesale division. If you are not in the food industry, you probably do not have much knowledge on this type of refrigeration. But even though you may not know about this, it still affects you in more ways than you can imagine. After all, you want your food to be fresh when it finally arrives at your home, right?

There is also a large variety of specialized equipment that may be required to protect and store foods when being shipped by road, rail, air, and sea. In other words, the food cannot thaw out just because it is in transit. Instead, special equipment is used to make sure that food is kept at the appropriate temperature regardless of transportation method.

All in all, there are many different types of refrigeration that help to ensure the overall quality and safety of food.

A difficulty that standard brick and mortar stores face is in providing follow-up to their customers. When you make a purchase a normal retailer your contact information might be used to send sales flyers or an invitation to a customer only event. There is very little personal contact with the customer although a growing number of these stores may ask for email address or other contact information to alert you to upcoming events.

With online marketing this scenario is quickly resolved through the use of autoresponders (sometimes referred to as auto responders). If someone sends your company an email an autoresponder can send a return email instantly to advise them that their question will be addressed very soon.

This idea has been expanded to include an autoresponder message when a customer concludes an online sale. Once the credit card information is completed and authorized an autoresponder message is executed that provides an immediate thank you for the sale and confirms their order. Generally these messages are in rich text (html) and can provide pictures, company logos and other unique design features. Customers will also find contact information and a tracking number in most cases.

Most opt-in mailing lists also provide autoresponder messages that welcome the new member and provide control functions for changing their subscription when they need to.

Online business can take advantage of the many uses for autoresponders by utilizing multiple email addresses for a variety of business applications. Each email address should be set aside for a specific business purpose so an autoresponder message can be put in place that is specific to the intended purpose of the email address.

One of the functions for an autoresponder is important for online business because they can independently send out a series of timed messages that provide a broad overview of your business and provide a welcomed means of learning more about your business.

In essence this means if you have a series of six messages that you plan on sending to customers over a six-week period, you can set up autoresponder software to automatically ship these six messages once a week for six weeks. On the same day your software could be sending out each of these six emails to customers who purchased from your online store at separate times. Autoresponders can take the guesswork out of follow up by insuring that every contact you receive will automatically receive a return email.

While this is a broad overview on the subject hopefully you gain an understanding that autoresponders provide a meaningful and many times multiple step mechanism for developing, maintaining and keeping your customers.

Payday loans are intended to bind borrowers over until the following paycheck reaches its destination. The weakness of cash advances includes expensive fees that make the APR (annual percentage rates) high enough to send you bankruptcy. The advances are distributed after the borrower signs an agreement accepting the stipulations that he will repay the fees and loan amount on a set date.

If you are planning a cash advance, you should consider all details of the loan and weigh out the pros and cons carefully. The payday loans are slightly different from other types of loans - it is short-term loan of unsecured nature.

After a person is accepted for a payday loan, the borrower writes a voided check to the vendor. The check includes the fee and the loan amount. The lender will often charge a percentage of the value borrowed, which in some instances stretches up to 900 percent annually.

Accordingly, if you borrow $200, you will pay back $240. The advance is then rolled over with the date due two weeks after the loan is issued. If the borrower does not have the loan amount upon the end of term agreement, he pays the advance fee and rolls the loan over to the following paycheck.

Payday loans are planned to help those wishing to dodge disconnections of utilities. Reconnection fees are around $50 depending on the state. Car repairs often lead people to payday loans. Most people depend on the vehicle to transport them to and from work. Additional urgent situations including medical expenditures can lead to bad credit. If you do not pay medical bills on time or put the bills off, the provider may send your information to the credit bureaus, which diminishes your credit.

The majority of payday lenders include requirements, which you must meet in order to receive a loan. It often entails employment, checking account, etc. and you will need proof of each detail.

The majority of lenders might decline payday loans if the borrower filed bankruptcy in the preceding year, or filed multiple bankruptcies over a course of time. If you do not have a job, the lender can rightfully deny you a loan, since no evidence of income is available to repay the loan.

Most lenders expect you to make $1000 monthly in net income to apply for a loan. If you worked less than five months on a job, the lender may deny your application.

Alex Fir shares a wealth of information on his website Payday Cash Loan Guide. If you want to learn more about online payday loans go to www.paydaycashloanguide.com/ http://www.paydaycashloanguide.com/ .

If you are reading this article, then you are probably a fan of football, collecting autographs or maybe even a fan of both. Whatever the case, this informative article is designed to provide valuable insight into building your autograph collection at no cost.

One of the most important aspects of collecting CFL autographs through the mail is preparing your request letter. It is recommended that you handwrite your request instead of typing it, which may appear form-like and impersonal. A letter requesting an autograph should be brief, but should also be polite and complimentary. It’s a good idea to mention some highlight in the CFL athlete’s career in order to personalize the letter even more.

The next most important thing to remember is to always include a SASE (self-addressed stamped envelope). When it comes to collecting autographs through the mail, the lack of a SASE will commonly translate into no response. If you are requesting a signed photo from your favorite CFL superstar, a 9×12 SASE will be sufficient. If you reside in Canada, you can use Canadian postage for your request. If you live in the United States, you will need to either use Canadian postage on the SASE or include several dollars in cash to cover the cost of postage. When your request letter and SASE are ready, place them both inside of a #10 business size envelope, affix one First Class postage stamp on the outside and address accordingly. On the outside of this envelope, your local postage stamps will be sufficient and no special stamps are needed for proper delivery.

Once your request is on the way, remember to be patient in awaiting a response. While a success cannot be guaranteed, it is important to note that response times can be lengthy and often depend on the athlete’s popularity, the time of the year and the team’s schedule. Patience is a virtue that is truly realized by all who collect autographs through the mail. If you reside outside of Canada and are requesting an autograph from a CFL athlete, your request may take even longer as the shipping distance will largely determine your wait time.

You may write to any CFL player in care of their team by using the following example:

Player’s Name
c/o Team Name
Address Line 1
City, State & Zip Code

One of the nice things about being an author is that we can break any rule we want. (I just did.) It’s part of our job description. Language changes through usage — definitions, spelling, grammar — and authors can help it do this. But on the other hand, we have to have some sort of agreement on the language or we won’t be able to talk to each other.

When we as authors break a rule or two, it’s not because we’re ignorant. It’s because we have reasons to break them. That’s one of the joys of writing.

Having said that, now I’m going to explain some rules. There are two types of writing in your novel. There is your narrative and there is your dialogue. The rules for the two are not the same.

For example, comma use. In dialogue, it’s not so difficult. Put in a comma wherever your speaker pauses in his/her speaking. In narrative, you have to consult the style guides and hope that you and your editor, working as a team, can sort it all out.

NARRATIVE

A cop thriller like my VIGILANTE JUSTICE has a simple set of rules for the narrative portion. Third-person, straightforward writing, light on adjectives and adverbs, easy to read and grammatically correct. Sentence fragments are acceptable if communication is achieved, and you’ll note that I use them often in this article. Why? Simply because it’s more effective that way.

To a degree the genre will help you identify what’s appropriate. For a cop drama, write in the dry style of a journalist. For horror, a bit of hyperbole may be acceptable in the most dramatic sections. For romance (not my genre), you can probably use lots more adjectives (swollen, heaving, throbbing, etc.) than you’d normally dare.

When I wrote RISING FROM THE ASHES, the true story of Mom raising my brother and me alone, I tried to adopt a childlike voice early in the narrative. As the character of Michael the storyteller grew older, I abandoned that childlike quality. (An entire book of that would get old fast anyway.)

When I wrote AN AMERICAN REDNECK IN HONG KONG, the humorous sequel, I once again used first person narrative. But the narrative of RISING is first person only in that it uses I instead of Michael. Michael is only a camera. It still follows all the rules of conventional narrative. In REDNECK, I threw most of the rules out the window.

I used what one author referred to my as conversational tone to maximum effect in REDNECK. This fellow author felt like he wasn’t so much reading my book as just listening to me tell some stories over a few beers. That’s exactly what I wanted.

When I wrote the sequel to REDNECK, another bit of humor called WHO MOVED MY RICE?, I chose to keep that same narrative style, which I’d spent three years perfecting in my newsletter.

In RISING, while I was the first person character, I wasn’t really the book’s focus. In REDNECK and RICE, I am. Center stage, in the spotlight. Using more of a dialogue style in what should have been narrative allowed me to focus the reader’s attention on the first person to a greater degree than simply describing him ever could. You may love me or you may hate me, but you’ll know me and you’ll laugh at me. Or, in the case of RICE, you’ll feel my frequent confusion. I had to write that from my perspective because it was often the only one I understood.

If you want to see such a technique used to maximum effect, I recommend A MONK SWIMMING by Malachy McCourt. (I read it after writing REDNECK, by the way.) It’s about an actor who gets drunk and does very bad things to himself and his family, and it’s amazing just how much I laughed out loud reading it. Doesn’t sound like a funny subject, does it? It’s not, and yet it is, thanks to his unconventional narrative style.

To tell you the truth, I don’t even think McCourt wrote that book. I think he just said it all into a tape recorder and transcribed it later. It reads that much like a guy at the pub telling a tale. If he used the grammar checking function in MSWord, I bet it underlined every sentence. And, bright fellow that he is, he ignored them all and didn’t change a word.

If you’re going to use a more conversational tone in your narrative, don’t think that means you just write something down and don’t have to edit it. You still have to organize your thoughts, and that means rewriting. While your style may be unconventional, you have to make the ideas easy for the reader to follow.

(I’m not entirely serious when I say McCourt just spoke into a tape recorder, and even if he did that doesn’t mean the rest of us can get away with it.)

In the case of narrative, you have the choice. If you want to spotlight the storyteller to maximum effect, you can go with first person and let the storyteller’s narrative and his dialogue read the same. If you’d prefer to move the camera back a bit, make the narrative conventional in contrast to the dialogue. As a rule, this reader likes contrast, because he gets bored reading the same thing over and over again unless the style is really special. Or perhaps you can find a point somewhere in between.

Every story has a way that it should be told for maximum effect. Maximum effect in the author’s eyes, of course, since it’s a subjective thing. Keep it in mind as you write. Make the call, stick to it, change it if it’s not working. It might even be okay to be inconsistent, but only if you do so deliberately. Just keep stuff like ease of reading and maximum effect in mind and be creative.

DIALOGUE

Have you ever read a book where the dialogue reads like narrative? I hope you haven’t. But as an editor I’ve seen such things, and they’re very ugly.

Do you know why they’re so ugly? Because they remind the reader of the one thing an author does not want to remind the reader of. Namely, that every character on the page is a puppet under the author’s control.

As readers, we put that thought aside so we can enjoy reading. Willing suspension of disbelief. If the author ensures that the reader can’t suspend disbelief, the book will not be read. Stilted dialogue is one of the quickest ways to make that happen.

I’ve decided that writing dialogue is the hardest thing we do. It’s certainly not something we can go look up in a style manual like Strunk or Turabian.

What are the rules? Make it sound real. But with the corollary, not too real because people always say um and er and crap like that. Oh yeah. That explains everything! End of my article, right?

Nope. I’m still writing it.

Ideally, the greatest of the great creators of dialogue will have every character speaking in a voice so distinctive that he/she need never identify the speaker. Okay, that’s enough fiction. Back to reality. None of us are writing dialogue that well, are we?

People use a lot more contractions in speech than in writing. They’re faster. More sentence fragments, too. People very often use the wrong version of lie/lay or who/whom in speaking. (I never use whom in speaking or writing because I want to see the distinction scrapped, but that’s another story.)

The dialogue portion of VIGILANTE JUSTICE isn’t difficult to describe. The hero is a self-destructive cop named Gary Drake. He is based on a real-life cop, my little brother. So his dialogue was easy because, in my mind, I always heard Gary speaking in Barry’s voice.

For my other characters, I had to find some other voices. For example, the voice of Doctor Garrett Allison is, to me, that of Michael Jordan.

That’s right, people. When I write, I literally hear voices in my head.

As a beginning writer, and not a very good one, I read some advice somewhere saying you might want to cut photos out of magazines and use them when writing your physical description, in case you can’t form a mental picture of your characters. I’ve used this technique, and with some modification I’ve extended it to voices.

As an author, you should always play to your greatest strengths while working to improve your weaknesses. I know many authors who think visually, and I envy them. One author told me that when he writes, he literally sees movies in his head, then just has to type them really fast because that’s how they’re playing. Lucky him! My novels first come to me in snippets of dialogue. Every character has the same voice at that stage. (My voice, of course.)

Tight dialogue is one thing I enjoy when I read. Here are the characters at some sort of verbal showdown. I know them, I know their motives, I can read between the lines and know what’s being left unsaid. I can just feel the tension in the air. I’m not so much mentally picturing bulging veins and angry glares as I am just feeling the spoken words.

I also have an excellent memory of voices. Like a dog remembers scents or an artist colors, it seems, I can remember voices. If I hear an unfamiliar song on the radio but I’ve ever heard that singer before, I can tell you who it is. I can tell you that the guy who did the voice of Gomez Addams in the original Addams Family cartoon is now doing one of the voices in the Tasmanian Devil’s cartoon series. I can spot an actor like Andreas Katsulas no matter what species of rubberized alien he’s playing, because I recognize his voice, although really that’s no great challenge in his case.

(For the record, if you’ve read THE CHRONICLES OF A MADMAN, Ahriman looks and sounds like Andreas Katsulas. Clyde Windham is Dennis Franz. Wendy Himes is some girl who sold me some horse feed about 15 years ago.)

But just hearing the voices (if you’re able) isn’t enough. The words themselves will be different depending on who’s speaking them, even if they’re relaying the same information.

In VIGILANTE JUSTICE, Gary Drake doesn’t use a lot of words. He almost never describes his own feelings, and if he does he always feels guilty about it. He speaks with a Southern drawl. He tends to use a single swear word, and that word is fuck. Marjorie Brooks, on the other hand, mentions feelings and uses whichever swear word is the most accurate, except that she never says fuck. Doctor Allison doesn’t use as many contractions as the rest of us do. These are things I kept in mind as I wrote their dialogue.

Who remembers Mr. Spock? His speech sounds like written language, very grammatical and correct, and that’s deliberate. He’s a scientist, he’s logical, and for him language is a tool to be used with as much precision as possible. That isn’t just a different style of dialogue; it helps define his character.

In THE CHRONICLES OF A MADMAN, Ahriman used fewer contractions than the rest of us and he avoided sentence fragments. He probably even knew the difference between who and whom or lie and lay. That’s because he’s intelligent, you see. It kinds of goes with the territory when one is evil incarnate.

During an edit I did of a sci-fi book, I saw that the author wasn’t using contractions in dialogue. I made many suggestions that he change the dialogue of the humans to use those contractions, except when military officers were giving orders, because order-giving officers tend to be more serious and thoughtful than folks just being regular folks.

I also suggested to this author that he change nothing about the stilted speech patterns of his aliens. English isn’t their native language, you see, and one thing I’ve noticed from living in China is that the locals don’t use nearly as many contractions as I do. So I thought that added realism. Plus, the contrast should help the readers keep everybody straight even if they aren’t consciously aware of why.

I remember in one edit where I read some character saying, I am an historian. Oh, I hate that phrase. I hate anyone ever putting an in front of a word that begins with the consonant h. It’s terribly pretentious and arrhythmic. As I kept reading the book, I quickly learned that the character in question was terribly pretentious. Nobody else in the book was throwing an in front of h words. It was a deliberate contrast on the author’s part, and it worked quite nicely.

CONCLUSION

I suppose the point of all this is, remember the difference between narrative and dialogue.

In the case of narrative, you’re simply trying to describe what happens. There is a famous quote of some sort that says, Great writing is like a window pane. Stick to that maxim unless you feel you have a good reason not to. If you’ve got what it takes to make your writing style superior to the conventional, and if your story allows it, let that style be an asset of your writing. Otherwise, just stick to the rules until you master them.

In the case of dialogue, you’re trying to write something that sounds like what the characters would actually say, but a bit more organized because real speech can be boring. Give every character his/her/its own voice.

Am I joking when I say its? Not entirely. THE CHRONICLES OF A MADMAN contains a short story, written in first person from my dog’s viewpoint. But then again, I would never call Daisy an it.

There’s a stylistic decision you can make in narrative, by the way. I always refer to animals as he or she. Some authors always use it.

In dialogue, you can let some characters always say he or she, and let others always say it, to contrast the feeling with the unfeeling. (My heroes never call an animal it. )

In the end, the goal is always the same. Make your writing as easy to read as you can. Keep that in mind, and always keep learning, and you won’t go wrong.

Four years ago I would go out to a night club and wear one of my favorite shirts and nicely pressed slacks and I would be told that I looked forty years old. It was very hard to take as I had just turned 36. I would go on to hear this kind of talk a lot around this time.

I moved to a new area and when I would go out, I would always get funny looks and reactions. I’ve always been an independent person so I didn’t mind going out to a local establishment alone but I was always friendly and had some kind of magnetism that seemed to always attract people.

Now don’t get me wrong. I’m just an average looking guy. I am tall and have always stayed in good shape and have always had a friendly and good sense of humor. Because I’m a bigger guy, people seem to make friends with me as I may make them feel comfortable. This is how it had always been since I was twenty years old. However, it wasn’t happening anymore. Inside I was still the same sarcastic, humorous and friendly person but on the outside I must have appeared to look like a loner or a psycho-serial killer.

I have never went out of my way to make new friends. However, occasionally when you would just come across people I was getting negative reactions. I knew that there was nothing at all different about me except for one thing. I was still big and had a good body, I was still tan, I still had nice, clean white teeth. I still wore brand new expensive shirts. The only thing that had changed was my hair. It was thinning and looked miniaturized and it was very apparent.

I knew that this was my only draw back but I really didn’t know what to do about it. I always made a good living and the thought of hair transplants was totally out of the question. I thought about just shaving it as it seemed that look was becoming more common. But I could just never come to do it as I always had this thought in my mind that there was a solution.

I bought a bottle of Propecia and for some reason I kept it in my medicine cabinet for about 6 months. I think that I was scared to take it. Everything that I had read seemed to imply that there were too many side effects. At the time, I hadn’t began to do any real research.

So I just hung in there and decided to start scouring the internet and do as much research as possible. I went to the discussion forums and I started to listen to a radio talk show about hair loss. The more that I researched, I started to realize that I must take the Propecia right away or my hair is going to start looking worse.

Even though I was still a little nervous I finally made a decision and I just went for it. I went to a Dermatologist and requested a prescription and he agreed that my hair was miniaturized and he felt that I would be a perfect candidate for Propecia. I had read in these forums that others were experimenting with this big three regimen and when I decided to get the prescription for the propecia, I would also start on the other two products as well. My plan was to give myself one full year of taking the three products and I would pray that the routine would work. After ninety days I was starting to see progress. As each month went by I would tell myself that I’m at 15% and now I’m at 20% and so on. Now that I look back, I see that I was being way too conservative. When I thought that I was at 50% of the way there and on the road to recovery, I was probably really only at 20%. I still had another 80% of improvement to go. As some people would say, I hadn’t even scratched the surface

After almost three years of this regimen I must say that I am very happy and that my results are definitely better then expected. I was a guy who had obvious hair loss to anybody that knew me or not. Now I’m a guy that still has a little frontal recession and still a little thinning in the crown and for the most part has a significant amount of hair.

I went out to a local establishment recently and a 27 year old guy talked to me for about an hour and he told me that he was 27 and that I’m what 32,33? I said try 39. He said really, wow you actually look about 32 and you seem like a 32 year old Of course the first thing that comes to your mind is that he was just trying to be nice and just complementing me. But I really believe that he was sincere as I have been getting a lot of this kind of treatment for the past year.

I can go out now and I have that magnetism again where people want to know me or talk to me instead of looking at me like I’m some crazy man. I still wear the nice shirts, I still work out and my body still looks as good as it did when I was 36, my teeth are still nice and white and I still look tan. The only thing that is different is my hair. It doesn’t look thin and miniaturized anymore. It looks like a normal full head of hair.

I truly believe that the way your hair looks tells a lot about a person’s age. The hair is the frame for your face and I must say I know that my hair looks 10 times better today then it did back when I was 36. You would think that since I have androgenic alopecia that my hair would look thinner and worse each year.

Actually the reverse has happened for me and time is actually on my side instead of against me because I have reversed the progression of my hair loss. Instead of having a higher level of DHT in my scalp miniaturizing my existing hair follicles, I take finasteride, better known as Propecia. Finasteride has been proven to block Type II 5 alpha reductace, the enzhyme that converts testosterone to DHT.

Although Propecia is the main player of The Big Three, there are still two other products that I feel must be taken. The three products taken together seem to work in a synergistic manner. Propecia does its thing, minoxidil has its role and nizoral also plays a key part. However, one plus one plus one equals four as far as the overall effect of the treatments. Nizoral makes Minoxidil more effective and Mixoxidil works better when taking propecia.

I have been taking the Big Three now for almost three years and I must say the regimen has really changed my life.

Mark Brassia is a consumer advocate who has been researching the hair loss industry for about four years. He handles many calls and emails from consumers who have been ripped off by scams and bad hair loss products. He is a hair loss sufferer himself and has spent thousands of dollars on many products that din not work and he has good advice if you are dealing with hair androgenic alopecia.
AP - Police in the 1970s urged citizens to “drop a dime” in a pay phone to report crimes anonymously. Now in an increasing number of cities, tipsters are being invited to use their thumbs - to identify criminals using text messages.

On my travels, I met a guy who had just built his own greenhouse. It had taken him two years! We got talking and I mentioned my Greenhouse web site. He could hardly wait for me to finish my sentence before launching into his tale:

Building a greenhouse is one of the most frustrating projects that I have ever undertaken. I have been involved in doing home repair kinds of things for years, so I am no stranger to the difficulty of making everything fit together, but I swear, I will never build a greenhouse again. I had honestly thought that building a greenhouse would be just like building a shed. Just assemble the frame and install the walls and, bingo - all done. Boy was I mistaken. I had no problem when I made my shed, but the greenhouse was a real nightmare.

D.I.Y. Fundamentalism is a Form of Mentalism.

I should have listened to my friends who said that I should hire an outside contractor instead of building a greenhouse myself, but I was sure that I was up to it. Let me tell you, it was one nightmare after another. Think installing windows is a pain in the neck? Try building a greenhouse, where every wall is made of absolutely nothing but windows and window frames! But that is not even the half of it. Oh no, not by a long shot.

If you are building a garage or a shed, you have some leniency in terms of how things fit together. Sure, you assemble the basic frame as accurately and precisely as you can, but a millimeter here, half an inch there, and you’re still good. But it’s not the case if you are building a greenhouse. Not the case at all. Imagine assembling your whole frame and finding that your window frames don’t fit. Imagine trying to recut them,- an expensive waste of time and money that does nothing at all to fix the problem - and then having to dig out your foundations and start again. Imagine burning it down for the insurance and calling it a day. Such is the nightmare of building a greenhouse from scratch. Never again, my friend. Never again.

Plant Lovers Unite and Take Over.

I had always thought that building a greenhouse was the ultimate project for a plant lover. It’s sort of like decorating the nursery for your kid. It’s the process of making a safe place for something that you love and treasure to glow and blossom. Now I realize the horrible truth. Building a greenhouse did just the opposite for me. It was six months before I could look at a plant!

But now a year has gone by. I’ve begun to wander in and out of my greenhouse. After all the trials and tribulations, I have to admit that I now have something that I’d been wanting for a long time. It’s still standing, and it is no longer empty. Not by a long way.

Telling his story put this guy in a much better mood, and we yabbered on long into the night. But I couldn’t help wondering if building a greenhouse could really be so difficult. I’d never even considered the possibility of designing and building one from scratch. There are simply too many good kits that are easy to buy off the shelf, take home, assemble and admire through the glass of a tart Chardonnay to worry about the whole D.I.Y.extremo thing.

Cheers.
